The Northern Bobwhite was first seen at Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware.

These are all Florida Sandhill Cranes. MY first sighting of the Sandhill Crane was in Yellowstone Nat'l Park.

The Chestnut-backed Chickadee was seen in various places while traveling around Oregon.

This bird was fast moving and hard to focus with all the pine branches..The lifer Mountain Chickadee was seen in Yellowstone Nat'l Park in 2008. On this photo above you can see the white feathers on the cap.


I had good view of this cute Chickadee while I was there, I just could not get good photos.  Here is some the tail and a butt shot.

One of my favorites, the Brown-headed Nuthatch. It can be seen in Southern Maryland. I have spotted them at Blackwater NWR and Chincoteague NWR. I have also seen them in Delaware, especially Cape Henlopen State Park.

The Brown Creeper is a winter visitor to the woods next to my house.. Somtimes they are hard to spot, they blend in well with the tree bark.

A Great Horned Owl and its young were seen along the Monocacy River Trail in Walkersville, MD







This may be a captive owl photo but it is my only shot of the Great Horned Owl.  I have seen this owl lifer many times in local Maryland parks.



I have not been lucky to get a photo of an actual sighting as of yet.. Maybe someday.
